Design and modelling
Noble Power Solutions engineers have substantial experience in undertaking the design and modelling of the earthing system requirements for all high voltage installations. From small kiosk substations through to 220kV substations our engineers have delivered the design and modelling requirements for our client projects.
Commencing a design with a site visit we develop an understanding of the area, the ground conditions and the environment in which the earthing system is to be created to streamline the design process.
Utilising powerful earthing system design and modelling software tool such as SES Technologies CDEGS and Electrotechnik SafeGrid Earthing we are able to develop earthing system designs which will provide the necessary protection to personnel and high voltage equipment whilst remaining cost effective. As the cost of materials for construction of earthing systems continue to rise more emphasis is placed on achieving this balance and using template designs may no longer be suitable.
Detailed design packages are created for all designs undertaken which include the estimated values for earthing system impedance, fault current distributions and predicted step, touch and transfer voltages.
Current injection testing
Verification of new and existing earthing systems and installations.
The true performance of an earthing system can only be determined through undertaking current injection testing and measuring the resultant system behaviour. The collective field experience our engineers and technical officers possess in undertaking current injection testing allows us to assess an earthing system even in challenging locations.
The testing equipment we utilise has been carefully selected to ensure it provides accurate and repeatable results, will operate in a wide range of environments and provides the highest degree of safety to users.
Undertaking a series of current injection tests and measurements we are able to use this data and assess the performance of the earthing system against the relevant standards. Noble Power Solutions performs both the initial installation testing as well as routine condition assessment testing.
