Project Overview
Noble Power Solutions provided expert pre-commissioning assistance for the 88 MW Mica Creek Solar Farm near Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia’s largest remote grid solar farm.
Creek Solar Farm near Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia’s largest remote grid solar farm. We also supported the accompanying 132kV bus extension at Diamantina Power Station. Our team handled critical tasks including:
- 33kV GIS Switchboard Testing: Conducted inspection, high voltage (Hi-Pot) testing, and functional verification of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) to ensure fault-free operation.
- 132kV AIS Switchgear Testing: Performed inspection and high voltage testing of 132kV Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) to confirm reliable performance and safety.
- CTs and VTs Testing: Tested Current Transformers (CTs) and Voltage Transformers (VTs) for accurate measurement and protection system performance.
- Control Systems Verification: Executed inverter hold point zero testing and assisted with Power Plant Controller (PPC) configuration for effective SCADA system integration.
- Pre-Energisation Protection System Testing: Verified protection systems, including relays and circuit breakers, for safe energisation.
Our efforts ensured a smooth pre-commissioning process, supporting the first large-scale and reliable renewable generation on the North West Power System in Queensland.
