Batchelor and Manton Solar

Project Overview

Located on the outskirts of the picturesque Litchfield National Park the Batchelor and Manton Solar Farms are on the smaller side of those usually tested and commissioned by Noble Power Solutions.

Whether the site is 20MW or 200MW Noble Power Solutions engineers are more than happy to undertake the testing works associated with the delivery of these projects.

For these projects the scope included:

• Inverter stations: Testing of Ring Main Unit, Circuit Breaker, Step Up Transformer, Current Transformers, protection relays and inverter station earthing system. Works also included establishing communications from Power Plant Controller to inverter stations.
• High Voltage Cables: Cable sheath integrity checks, cable sheath earthing bond checks, insulation resistance measurements and High Voltage Very Low Frequency withstand testing was conducted on all High Voltage cables
• 22kV equipment: Testing and pre-commissioning of 33kV switchroom including protection relays, 22kV switchgear, 22kV instrument transformers, harmonic filter transformer, auxiliary transformer, SCADA systems and substation 125Vdc battery systems
• Harmonic Filters: Testing and inspections of harmonic filters was undertaken prior to the energisation and onload checks of the units.
• SCADA and NSP Interface: Noble Power Solutions worked with the client to implement the site SCADA system and undertake testing of 100% of the SCADA points as required. The SCADA communications from site to Power and Water Corporation also had to be established and 100% of the points tested through to the control room as well.
